This is a recovered 275gr BE from my ML a couple of years ago, a bang flop gut shot doe at 165yds. Retained weight was around 235gr if I remember correctly, muzzle velocity was just over 2400fps. It's almost 3/4" in diameter at the widest points. I have never seen a deer get hit so hard with a poor shot like I made.

This is the entrance side day after skinning with no trimming done, bullet angled foward about 2 ribs and was found along the hide offside.

I'd seat both of those hunter/match bullets out to .01 off the lands in a 1.70 .284 case and single load them, just like the high power shooters have been doing with the 80 and 90 grain .223 VLDs for years. It would interesting to see how they fly at 500 - 600 yards. It's possible we don't have the twist for it in the factory barrels, how long are those bad boys? If they'll stay supersonic, and stable, they ought to fly pretty well.

It would be interesting to find whether my bolt guns could accomodate the long Hunter Match bullets. When I'm done with the trials of light bullets and switch to working with the heavier weights, I'll think about them. At $2 a pop, however, they will require a lot of thinking.
