Here are some lead ballistic tip bullets that I have been looking at. Do you guys think they would lead fowl real bad or would they be a viable option for the 450? They have awesome BC's!!

It's a little hard to say without trying them. I've never played with a rebated heel lead boolit, and I didn't see where they list list the actual diameter. It might be fun to try the .40s in a sabot as well.

Looks like they are .451 diam. Rohk and I have also discussed shooting the 40's with a sabot. There are some very impressive looking muzzle loader bullets out there if a guy is willing to put up with some possible lead fowling but I also wonder if moly coating them would reduce that.

Now, if they shoot as well as they look, cause they look good. Couple of thoughts, if someone picks them up, with the long bullet, can the bullet be seated to fit our mags and not be crimped over the ojive, water jug test will need to be completed to ascertain their "Big Game" suitability and to what speeds can they be pushed. All this is quite expensive, but work worth doing and a phone call to them would set the length issue to bed. If you do call, get the bullet OAL length and the length of the bearing surface, those with QL might be able to get a bead on Speeds-&-Needs, if the question is also asked, at what speeds, the high and low end, do these bullets thrive in??..

the ones I played with in my ML's a few years ago, were soft lead. Hopefully Cecil has changed something since then.

Holy cow! 3" high at 100 and 4" low at 300! 1000+ pounds of energy out to 600!! Of course it would have to be loaded to get to 2200 fps first.. but wow.

Edit: I just looked at the chart again, because I knew something had to be wrong. I was looking at the moa column. 13 low at 300 sounds more realistic.... bummer.
