New Barnes Offering

Postby MoArk » Thu Feb 21, 2019 6:23 pm

I think this is my first post, although i have been a member for a lot of years. I have both an AR and a 20 inch RAR. Killed several deer with with my AR, and I started reloading because of this site, and am dialing in a good bolt load with the 275 TSX.

Sorry for my life story, lol. The reason I started this post. I emailed Barnes with a muzzleloader question. I figured I'd ask about any new 450 offerings while I was at it. Ryan Farr, the tech support who answered my email said: "we are going to be releasing a 250 grain bushmaster bullet in both ammo and as a component. That should be happening soon."

i am kinda excited about a 250 grain all copper tsx designed for the 450. Hope they deliver soon!!

I notice the Barnes stuff is listed at .451 in diameter. Will this be an issue as I usually shoot .452 bullets?

Nah, though if you don't crimp down into a driving band groove, you may notice slightly less neck tension.

The 275 TSX's I have used (couple different lots) have mic'd around .4505 diameter. A lot of people, myself included, have had good results with them. I think because it is a longer bullet, the smaller diameter doesn't affect it as much. With that said I got a little better accuracy out of the 200 XPB, which is slightly larger in diameter.
