.450 Bushmaster purchase

Postby rokdog013 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 3:37 pm

Just went out to the local gun store and put $200 down on my new rifle. They have the 2.5-10X20 Leupold Mark AR scope for $279 and the Owner said flip up sights will be about $170.
He has a 16" in Max1 camo listed for $1309.10 so I mentioned I found a Bushmaster 16" digital camo on cheaperthandirt.com for $1090 so he said he would look around and see if he could find me a better deal. I forwarded him the link. What have you guys paid for your .450's?
I think my scope selection is perfect, just wish I could find it in Camo. May have it sent off.
As far ass mag's go, I need to acquire single stack follower's, right? Has anybody done much with the mags, like 20, 30 and 40 round mags?

take a look on the other posts about mags, good info there. seem that the sig mags work with no modification needed. I just bought the upper from bushy on sale, had the lower already. 1090 seems pretty fair for a complete gun. If the local guy will come close than it's up too you..If you order it you will have transfer fees for your ffl.

You guys are lucky! When I bought my 1st 450 complete rifle in 20" it was during the AW scramble and it was $1200. I wouldn't have felt so bad if it was in the digital camo though.

Only thing about the magpul is they are composite and haven't heard how they hold up on the gas block.

From posts I read over on AR15 they will fail/melt under continuous firing - not sure if that is full auto type, mag dumps, or a few shots each minute..

I could see trying plastic mags, but flip up sights? no way hoser!I get to work thanksgiving so its O.T. and holiday pay, so I am going to pitch more money at the gun store next payday. Sent the link for the digital camo rifle on cheaperthandirt.com to the gunstore and then called the owner said he was hunting for it. I think the MAX1camo would blend in around here alot better but the digital camo is wickedly cool looking. Looking at all the pieces I want to add eventually it's kind of funny to think of how much all this will be!
Ambi safety, extended bolt release, flip up sights, Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point For Single Point Slings, Leupold MARK AR 2.5-10X20
can't wait... merry frickin christmas to me!!
I wish we had Feral Hogs around here. Heard reports of them, the game department allows year round day or night hunting of them, but I have yet to come across anybody who has seen or heard anything. We do have Coyote, though...

The Magpul BU sights are not designed for the gas block. For one they will sit too low as they are made to sit on the top of a fore end rail... then there is the obvious heat issue. I have a set on my armalite rig and I have been very pleased with them.

It was only a suggestion, as I too run a set on a DPMS m4 as back up, check once in a while for zero, never a problem cept for once we had freezing rain and they got stuck but Im sure the steel ones would have done the same thing
not sure where the heat issue is from, mine dont get warm
