Ready to take the Next Step

All right everyone, I am really close to getting the funds to pick up an upper for my BM Predator. is there any thing that I need to be aware of? Is there any difference between the 16 and the 20" barrels? I am leaning towards a 20" barrel

IIRC the 20" gets about 75fps more but IMHO the 16" is handier in the dense woods over here. Welcome aboard! :D

Thanks. I have been lurking for a few months, just to get an idea on the Bushmaster.

just got mine! 7 days from ordering it is a 16" which is perfect for me but if your doing longer range shooting you might want a 20,but i don't know if it will make that much difference

Try that with the other brands, which usually can take more than a year for those..t

I bought the 20". IMHO, the longer barrel provides for a more complete powder burn, longer time for the bullet to be spun by the rifling, and better accuracy. And 20 inches is really not bad when you consider guys are running around in the woods
with 28"shotguns. And bolt action rifle barrels get darn long too. That extra 4 inches on a Bushie should give you better FPS and accuracy. How much, I don't know, but I know that my long barreled 22s are tack drivers compared to some of my shorter barreled 22s.
Also, it gets that muzzle blast just that much further from my already almost usless ears.
